Poetry dinner and reading held quarterly from March. Friendly and relaxed event, non-poets and people new to poetry are most welcome. Feature poets read for 20 minutes each; open mic poets read 1 poem of no more than 2 minutes. Feature poets’ books are usually available for purchase. Past feature poets are Judith Beveridge, Stephen Edgar, Melinda Smith, Peter Boyle, David Malouf, Kevin Hart. We have also produced 2 books of the poems read at these events: A Patch of Sun, and recently, The Intimacy of Strangers.

$36 a head with drinks at discount prices ($6 a glass of wine). Drinks, coffee and desert are extra; $5 of this fee goes as a tax exempt donation to the NGO Westwords which supports young writers in Sydney’s western suburbs.

The Incinerator Restaurant, 2 Small St, Willoughby, Sydney. Bus access from both the city and Chatswood. Bus stop at corner of Small St and Willoughby Rd. 5 minute walk to venue. Plenty of free parking at the venue.

7 pm to 10 pm. Be there by 6:45pm for preferred seat as all dinners have been full house (approx. 75 people).
