Poets at the Petersham Bowlo
Open Mic soirée: poems, short stories, comedy, acoustic music held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. A friendly, encouraging ethos and atmosphere. All types of poetry welcome in two sessions, sometimes with musical performance, with 20 minutes intermission; 5 mins per person in each session. Performance poets can request extension of time if practicing for an upcoming show. We publish an annual anthology: anyone who has presented original material in that year is welcome to submit work. We have a table for the sale of books (all proceeds go to the author).
Petersham Bowling Club, 77 Brighton St, Petersham, Sydney. Walk from Petersham station or Parramatta Road buses. Parking in surrounding streets. The bar is open till usually 10pm, bistro until 9pm. Happy hour at the bar from 5 until 6pm. Wheelchair access through cellar to the downstairs Green Room. The Bowl is a no-pokies pub.
